Battle in real life: switching gamers to offline games
To expand its audience, children’s blaster brand Nerf turned to Fortnite online game players
and released a namesake blaster. But what would make 13+ teenagers leave their virtual
world and buy a toy blaster? We decided to pitch top bloggers against game streamers in a
real-life Fortnite battle. We built a special arena simulating a computer game location. Twitch, Telegram and Nerf community in VK all talked about the battle. The battle was broadcast live on VK, YouTube, Twitch. Online viewers could help participants or impair their situation during the game.
